Saturday Soccer Game
Every Saturday I have a soccer game! They are so fun! Last Saturday, we played the Heat and we beat them four to zero (I think- but I know we beat them). I scored two goals! It was so cool. First I went to the right corner and there was an open path to the goal (my specialty). I used my hardest kick so that they would be scared to go for it, and it sailed in! The second one was pure LUCK. I wanted to do the same thing I did last time (I have to admit, I was full of myself from the first goal) and so I went to the same place and kicked. It was way off, but then it bounced off of one of the other team's defenders and into the goal! Those were some awesome goals!

One of the great things about living right across the street from one of your best friens is that they are always right there! You don't have to call and schedule something, you can just walk over. Anyhoo..........I'm going to have lots of fun!

The Menace of the.....CRCT!!!
All of you people in Georgia know that the CRCT is a BIG DEAL!! I mean, all we learn is taught to us BECAUSE of the CRCT!! In Michigan, there is the MEAP, right? But, in Michigan, the MEAP isn't as big as a deal as the CRCT. Wow. That is all that I have to say. WOW. On Wednesday we did the Reading CRCT, then yesterday the LA, and today the Math. The Math wasn't as big as a deal as the other kids thought it was. On Monday, we are doing the Science, and the next day we are doing the Social Studies. OMGosh, I couldn't sleep on the first night OR last night. I WASN'T EVEN NERVOUS!!!! I swear, I will have NIGHTMARES about the CRCT!! That is not right! Ok, bye! :)

The Riverwalk
Today we went to the Riverwalk in SA, Texas. It was really cool! First we started off parking and going into the mall, because there was a mall connected to the parking building. So, we went through the mall and ended up in an outdoor area right on the river. It was so beautiful! There were plants, and tables with umbrellas.
We walked over to the area where they were selling tickets for the boat ride tours, and bought 3- one for Mom, Caleb, and I. Mrs. Sherry bought her ticket seperately. Our ride was at 12:00 and it was about 11:10, so we went to the bathroom and grabbed some Starbucks. By the time we arrived back to get in line, we were 20 minutes away from boarding the boat. So we just stood there and waited. Then, finally, there was a vacant boat, and a man got in it and told us to board. There were seats on the edge of the boat, and back to back seats in the middle. Caleb and I sat on the edge, and Mom and Mrs. Sherry sat on the inside area right across from us. During our tour, I took lots of pictures and soaked up lots of facts. It was just so beautiful! I can't stop saying that!!
After we got off the boat, we walked down the river to a reccomended Mexican resturaunt where you could eat along the water. The food was great, but the delivery of Caleb's food went something like this: WRONG, 5 minutes, WRONG, 5 minutes, WRONG, 5 minutes, WRONG, 5 minutes, RIGHT FINALLY!!
After that we were going to go to the Alamo, but we had to take a quick pit stop. On the way to the Alamo was a hotel, so we went inside the hotel to find the bathrooms. Once inside, our mouths couldn't say closed! It was so BIG! It looked small on the outside, but on the inside, it was HUGE. So we rode the AWESOME elevator to the lobby (the lobby was like, the middle floor, and the elevators were small little red bottles with a pizza-looking shape on the bottom in lights).
After our bathroom break, we went to the Alamo, which was pretty cool. Once inside, we couldn't: take pictures, touch the walls, or eat. Next we walked around the gardens surrounding the Alamo, and walked back to the mall, then eventually our car. We enjoyed our day tremendously!! :)

Today was the best 4th period ever!!! We had cake and Coke leftover from the Beta Club Induction Ceremony, because we helped Mrs. Davis set it up. Then a guy in my class spilled Coke all over himself, and it looked like he wet his pants! :P Next we made up poems according to an outline Mrs. Davis gave to us. Some people had really funny ones! That was the best 4th period Language Arts ever!!! Ha ha ha ha ha! :)

MDA Shamrock Drive
For the past 2 weeks, our school has been raising money for the MDA- or Muscular Distrophy Association. We would give the money to our homeroom teacher in dollars usually. If you gave $1, you would get a green shamrock, write your name on it, and tape it outside of your homeroom door. But, if you gave $5, you would get a gold shamrock and go through the same process. It was a competition to see which homeroom could raise the most money. First Place- Pizza, Second Place- Ice Cream, Third Place- Donuts. So, on the final day, when they were going to announce it, they called out: 1st- Ms. Goff's 6th Grade, 2nd- Ms. Morton's 6th Grade, 3rd- Ms. Mooneyham's 7th Grade. We were Ms. Simon's homeroom, and we thought we were out of it until.................they announced a 4th Place- Ms. Simon's homeroom! WOOO HOOO!
Spring Musical Tryouts
OMGosh! On Wednesday, I am going to try out for the Spring Musical at my school! We are doing "The Big Bad Musical" AKA "The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf". I am trying out for-- NO NOT THE WOLF -- but, the reporter, Sydney Grimm. So far, I am the only one trying out for her part. She has 24 lines, and a song that she sings-which is all I require in a part. !!!!!!!=EXCITED!!!!!!!

Assembly Line Race
Today, we had an assembly line race in Technology. It was really fun! But it was even cooler that we won! What we had to do was create an assembly line that was: fast, and didn't leave a lot of extra parts laying around. So our team came up with a plan. We would have 5 people sit at the counter and build the product (which was basically a screw with a little washer then a big washer, then a lock washer, and to keep it all on we put a nut on the end), while there were two part suppliers. I was a part supplier along with my friend Victoria. I would put the parts into a group (little washer, big washer, lock washer, nut, and screw), while Victoria delivered the parts to the people that were waiting to build. We ended up winning with a time around 4 1/2 minutes and the other team had 6 minutes something, BUT......they had 32 parts laying around x 5 which added up to be 9 minutes and more. WE WON!!! Do the happy dance, do the happy dance!!

SHOCKED!!!! ZZZZ!!
Two days ago, we were in A-squared, and we had to go to the Technology teacher's room because Mr Harp (the science teacher) was sick. So, when we went here to learn about lab safety procedures, he did that, and then: we did an experiment. DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUUU...... He told us to get in a circle and hold hands. Then he put a motor in between two people and they had to touch it. I personally thought that we were going to make the motor work, but all of a sudden he pulled the rip cord.... AND A SHOCK WENT THROUGH ALL OF US!!!!! IT HURT!!! That experiment came as a total surprise! :)

Bottle Rockets
Today in Technology, we launched our bottle rockets. We had previously made them, and today we were going to launch them! Mr. Williams, our Technology teacher, filled up our rockets with water. Then we went over to the launcher. It was basically a pipe that connected to a pressurizer. But, when you put the rocket on it, and turned the pressurizer on, it wasn't so basic after all!! He had to push down one switch until the rockets plummetted toward the clouds! There were a lot of people in front of my friends: Brooke and Britteny. But Britteny went before Brooke and I. When hers got launched, it landed on top of the roof of one of the outdoor classrooms, but it rolled down. When our turn came it wasn't as special as Britteny's (which is not special at all). But, when mine landed, some one grabbed it and threw it to me. I didn't know that it was coming, so the top part KONKED me in the head (we were using liter bottles, so the cap hit me on the head. You dont know how it feels to be hit in the head by the cap on a Coke bottle!)! Altogether, it was fun! :)

Sailboat Race
Today in Technology, each group made a sailboat and raced them in a gutter. I was partners with one of my friends- Victoria Oliver. We had an idea of making a fan to propell the sailboat, but we only had a file folder, aluminum foil, masking tape, and an endless supply of paperclips. We had to change our design to a regular sail on top. But, in the back, we put a dent to catch the wind and push the boat. Our design looked tops, but the problem was we didn't measure the gutter correctly. Our boat didn't fit! I was sad... but it was a cool experience! :)

Helen Keller

Helen Keller is one of the most amazing women ever! She had what was said to be scarlet fever and barely survived. But instead of her life being taken away, she had her sight and hearing taken away at 19 months old. Just think- to have you hearing and sight taken away before you have gotten to experience any of it. That is why she was so badly behaved. She didn't know that she was hurting someone because she had never even experienced hurting someone! But, Annie Sullivan, wow, she was a miracle worker. To get scratched and bitten and to keep on going like that and to finally succeed! After that moment at the water pump, her mind began to open. She finally had feelings and understood some of the world like she always wanted to. She was a very bright child. She had invented her own language while she was growing up. She invented more than 60 signs to communicate with her parents and Martha Washington, the cook's daughter. Helen ended up attending Perkins School for the Blind and then later on attending Radcliffe College which was a huge accomplishment for the blind-deaf. Books on this amazing woman of history include: Miss Spitfire: Sarah Miller, The Story of My Life: Helen Keller, Helen Keller: Her Life In Pictures, and some others. I hope you enjoy learning about her as much as I did!
Ocean Floor Topography
Today in science, we did a art show with the Ocean Floor Topography pictures that we drew. Mr. Harp, my science teacher, put the pictures up on the board and numbered them. Everybody in my class got a tiny scrap of paper and put the number of the picture that they were voting for. After that you would put the scrap of paper in his cup and he would count the votes. After all the votes were counted, guess who got first place.........MEEEEE!! :) LOL!
BTW- I got Tropical Skittles!!! :)

First Day of School
Today was the first day back for all of you Georgia People (and me too.) I have a new connection. Everybody else gets 2 new connections, but I have Chorus which I will have all year long. So........I got Technology. The first day at Technology was kind of boring......he just talked.....and talked.....and talked..... But, I think it is going to be fun anyways. We are supposed to do an egg-drop experiment at the end of the nine weeks. He also mentioned that we would be working on different things and making stuff. So, I'm excited.
P.S.- The first day back went well. :)
