OMR (Oh My RAIN!)

Well, it all started when I got off the bus and saw my mom walking toward me.  I asked her if somthing was wrong, but she said no.  The sky looked really ugly, and those "National Weather Service" radio beeps were playing all the way home.  I told my mom what the bus driver has said which was, "SHUT UP, YA'LL, I NEED TO HEAR THIS." Along with, "If that had said our county, then I would have had to turn back around and bring ya'll back to school."  She got a little nervous, because my brother was still at school, about to get on his bus, and she was confused about how she would get him home.  In the background of all this, our Rhodesian Ridgeback-Black Lab, 60 pound mix named Brody was jumping on every couch he could find (he is deathly afraid of thunderstorms).  My friend's mom works on base, and the sirens had went off there, so she couldn't pick up my friend or her little brother.  By this time, my mom and I had already decided to go to the school to pick up my brother and my friend's little brother if possible.  Then, we packed Maggie (our calm, pointer-cocker-beagle mix) and Brody (YIKES!!) into the car.  As we were halfway there, my friend's mom called and said that she had called the elementary school, and they said that all buses were going to leave and take the kids home, so a,ll was good.  But, we volunteered to pick up my friend from my school because her mom was on lockdown at the base.  At my school, there are three places where a parent can pick up their child: the cafeteria side, the front office, and the gym lobby side.  The cafeteria side was closest to where my friend was, so we drove up to that side.  I hopped out of the car, and I was automatically given a shower by mother nature, I was like, DRENCHED!  But once I got underneath the awning, it was better.  I went to open the door.  .  .  .  .but ALL the doors were locked!!!  So, I banged on the doors (while getting hit by another sheet of rain..) and looked in the windows, but no one came.  I jumped back in the car, soaking wet, and told my mom to drive up to the front office.  When we got there, I got out and, since I was already wet, wasn't fazed too much by the pouring rain.  So, ultimately I was standing in the office, soaking wet, and one of the kids from my grade was in there too!  (Wow, such a great time to have your hair looking like a great big fuzzball.  .  .)  I asked our assistant principal if he could call down my friend, so he did, and we hopped back into the car.  Once we go home, I changed into dry clothes and had some popcorn.  Oh my RAIN!!!!

County Champs!

The game versus Huntington at the Recreational Football stadium was a blowout!  The mighty Jaguars won by a score of 12-0!  The competition was so intense!!  This is the first 8th grade BMS Jags county championship victory!  And once again.   .   .   .   .   .   .GO JAGS!!!

Ok, the anticipation is building....the game is tonight versus HMS, and I am sooooo excited!!  The teachers were SO nice, and they didn't give us any homework!  I hope you will be rooting for the JAGUARS!!!

Go BMS Jaguars!!

YAY!!  The Jaguars won!  They are moving on to the championship, so tune in next Thursday to hear the details....BUT I ALREADY KNOW THAT WE ARE GOING TO WIN!!  (because our team in still undefeated!)

Tomorrow I am going to a football game at my school!!  BMS (my school) is UNDEFEATED!!!  Go BMS Jaguars!!!  :)

The Georgia National Fair

On Friday, I was so excited, because I was going to be picked up from school and go directly to the Georgia National Fair!! We had already been on October 6th, but we didn't get to do any of the rides or anything. First we went to the Georgia Living Building to show my dad the artwork that I had submitted. I entered four pictures, and came out with a First, a Second, and an Honorable Mention. I will only put up a picture of the first place one. Second, we decided to look at the cattle

and horses, so we did that. Of course, we had to have a funnel cake, so we ordered a plain one that my mom, my dad, and I would share. My brother got fries. Next, we decided to check out the rides. I'm not much of a "ride" person, so I usually just go on the Ferris Wheel. After that, my brother went on the bumper cars and did a really good job. Then came one of my favorite parts......the Agri-Lift! My mom and I sat together in one, and my brother and my dad sat in one. The lift stopped a couple times for unknown reasons, but when we got off, I was glad that we had gone. The Georgia National Fair is something I will look forward to for years to come!

Mackinac Island Poem

This is a poem I wrote for my Honors Language Arts class:

The ferry ride was a chance
for the wind to make my hair dance
any way it wanted to

I was amazed at how long it took
to get to this beautiful island
tucked among the salty waves and the beautiful blue sky

My legs were aching with pain
as we climbed up the road
as steep as a mountain

But when we got to the top
and saw the view, pretty as a picture
I knew that no human could ever recreate such a thing as this

Michigan Trip

When I was on my trip in Michigan, I got my ears pierced!! Yay! We also went to Mackinac Island for a day. It was absolutely beautiful! This trip to Michigan was the best yet!

Back To School Soon. . . .

I can't believe that we are going back to school in approximately 25 days!!! And (some people are going to think I'm crazy), I seriously want to go back! School is the place where I can see my friends, and I feel like it is WAY too boring during the summer unless you are on a trip! That probably sounds crazy, but I really want to go back to school. Please comment on this and tell me how YOU feel about going back to school!

GNO (Girl's Night Out)

On Tuesday, my mom, one of my best friends, her mom and I went to the Mellow Mushroom (a really cool pizza place), and went to see Monte Carlo. We ordered a large pizza with ham and spinach on it to split between the four of us. It was DELICIOUS!!! Then, of course, the movie. Monte Carlo was GREAT!! I highly reccomend it. Remember to have a GNO once and a while, because it can be a whole lot of fun! :)

Happy Fourth of July!!

Today is the fourth of July!! Yay!! Get ready for fireworks galore. We are having a special dinner of Cheeseburger Subs and will sit at the highly decorated table!! Maybe (if I can get my dad to agree to it) we can have a bonfire!! Remember to remember all the soldiers that died for our freedom in this amazing country. . . .

Summer Reading

Ok, one of my favorite things to do is read. So, here are some great books and series you might enjoy. I have recently (just this year) become a Harry Potter FREAK!! We own all the movies (except for the last two) and I am currently bouncing up and down because J.K. Rowling, the author, is starting a new site in which you can continue your journey in the world of Harry Potter. Anyways- read the Harry Potter books! Right now I am currently reading a book called "It's My Life" by Melody Carlson. Its a Christian book about a Christian girl of 18 who is writing in her diary. She just writes about her life, and I am really enjoying it. I feel like I'm learning that sharing the wonderful news of Jesus Christ is not such a hard thing after all. Another great series is the Percy Jackson series! Amazing (reminds me a little bit of Harry Potter)!! So, even though its summer, DON'T STOP READING!!

First Perry Players Day

Today was the first day of the first session for Perry Players. I had soo much fun!! I guess its kinda weird to be my age and like theatre and this being my first year. But, I'm glad that I'm joining now!

Carnival Dream

Wow! Just got back Saturday (a week ago) from an awesome trip on the Carnival Dream! We went to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. It was soooo fun!! Here is a picture- check it out!

Eventful Night Out

Tonight, my family and I went out to Mexican. We sat down at our table, and the big table next to us was hosting some sort of Toastmasters Speech Contest. it was really weird, just sitting there and listening to people make speeches. At one point, they asked people to silence their cell phones, and my Papa suggested that my mom call his phone so that the Toastmaster people could have the privelege of listening to "Danger Zone"!! But, to everyone at our table's dissapointment, my mom forgot her phone in the car. . . . .after a while I actually got intersted (I still can't believe it!) and was curious to see who won. The sad part was that we left before the announced the winner. . . . .tonight was one to remember!! :)

Tron: Legacy

I just went to see the movie Tron: Legacy. It was GREAT!! The special effects will blow you away!! I also think its cool that Clue (a guy in the movie), and the dad in the beginning, both have a computer generated head. That is what the actor looked like about 20 years ago. The dad inside the world of TRON is what the actor looks like in present time. I think that's pretty cool! I highly recommend it!

Winter Break

For most of you people that live in Georgia, your Winter Break starts tomorrow! Whoopee!!!

Having A Blog

Having a blog is nice, but it is tough work. I just created a new one, but decided to delete it, because I only want one blog now. It is hard to keep up with one, let alone, two!

Upward Basketball Game

Went and saw my brother's sixth Upward Basketball game yesterday! We won against the Buckeyes, but the other team put up a good fight. I couldn't stay seated!

Sweetheart Dance Coming Up!

If you go to my school, you'll know what I'm taking about! The Valentine's Dance (the biggest one of the YEAR) is coming soon. Love is in the air. . . . . . . :D

Wow!

I know that I haven't been posting for a while, but I have been busy from Christmas to papers! I will try to be more consistent from now on. . . .
